Website Design: Frequently Asked Questions

I have worked on my website for a long time. I'm so frustrated! I have a business to run and a life to live. Can you help?

Absolutely! That's what I'm here for. I know how frustrating website builders and coding can be. Let me support you and your business by taking this frustration off of your hands.

What if I don't have a lot of time?

Uh-oh! No lie...this is going to take some time. I would suggest that you focus on the pieces that are most important to you right now. The rest can follow at a later date.

Sometimes a website can seem overwhelming because we want it all perfect from the get-go. Start small and work your way up to the website you want. If you need help breaking it down into phases, I'll be glad to help you.

How will we work on my website together?

Did you check out my Website Design Process page. And if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

I've spent more money on so-called gurus who haven't helped me or given me any information. Why should this be any different?

Me too!  The old bait and switch or the leader not really knowing what he or she is doing is really frustrating. I've been there. I get it. Like you, I completely wish I had all of that money back. I'm here to be of service and help you create something that you can be proud of. So, if you aren't satisfied with the end results, please email me and let's talk about your needs. If I still can't help you, I'll give you half of your money back. I trust that you'll be diligent in doing the exercises provided, and honest in honoring the time I put into creating your website.

I would hate to work with someone who farms out the work. Will I be working directly with you?

I assure you. I want to get to know you as much as you want your beautiful website. I will not be on some beach sipping cocktails while someone else is working on your website. You will get to ask questions of ME, not my assistant or a stand in, proxie person. We can even jump on Skype to talk about your website needs. I'm here for you...and if there are any cocktails involved, you will be invited as well. Be forewarned...there may be confetti throwing!

What if I don't know anything about this tech stuff?

If you are concerned about coding and Internet tech speak. Boy do I get it!

I break down the language so you can understand it, and I'll guide you step-by-step through each phase. I'm pretty confident that I can teach you and most people, via examples, fun, adventure, and some screen sharing, how to do this.

Here's the thing, yes, there might be some language to learn. If you are terrified of doing something wrong, you might want to think about spending your money on having someone create your website for you. There is no shame in that, especially if this is not your thing.

If you like an adventure and have a sense of curiosity, even if you don't know the difference between HTML and JAVAscript, I can help you.

What kind of websites do you specialize in?

I specialize in websites for authors, artists, healers, and magic makers. I like working with the website builder, Wix. It will make it MUCH easier for you to maintain, if you choose to maintain it after the initial set up.

How long does a website take?

That is a difficult question to answer. It depends on how fast you approve the different phases, and what is required for the site itself. It is my experience that it takes on average a month to get a customized website up and running. If it is a theme installation, it can be up and running within a week. A lot of the time involved depends on my production schedule.

Wow! Why are your prices so high?

My prices are aligned with industry standards. If you have been shopping around for a website designer, I will agree that there are some who will create a website for you for very cheap. I will also caution that you get what you pay for. I do not charge $200 for a customized website because I value my knowledge, my time, and my work.

If you feel that my prices are not aligned with your needs, we can do one of two things:

1. We can discuss your budget, and I can let you know how much can be accomplished for that price.

2. I can set up a payment schedule, like a layaway plan that you can begin paying on now to have your website built in the future.

Contact me to discuss your needs.
